Step 1: Export your products from your existing store
Most eCommerce platforms allow you to export your product data as a CSV file (also known as a spreadsheet). This file includes key details such as:

You can easily find step-by-step instructions online for exporting CSV files from platforms like Squarespace, WooCommerce, BigCommerce and others.
Migrating from Shopify?
Our ‘Upload Shopify export’ feature is designed specifically for Shopify users. Simply follow Shopify’s steps to export your products as a CSV file, then upload it directly into Little Big Shop.
Step 2: Adapt your spreadsheet to Little Big Shop’s format
Every eCommerce platform structures product data slightly differently. To ensure a smooth import, you may need to adjust your CSV file to match Little Big Shop’s format.
What may need updating?
- Column headers
- Image URLs
- Variations (e.g., size, colour)
- Stock levels and pricing
💡 Pro tip: Download our CSV template (in your Little Big Shop admin) to see the exact format required for importing products. For the best results, copy and paste your product data into this template before uploading to ensure everything aligns correctly.
Step 3: Import your products into Little Big Shop
Once your spreadsheet is ready, head to Products > Import products in your Little Big Shop admin dashboard to upload the file. Our system will process the data, and your products will appear in your store.
Consider completing a final review of your products and store, to ensure everything imported correctly. Check that images are displayed correctly and prices are accurate!
If you’re migrating from Shopify, head to Products > Import products > Upload Shopify export.

Right now, Little Big Shop allows for product migration. If you’re switching to us, consider exporting your customer and order history from your old site if you’re able, and store it on your computer.
Why do I need to edit my CSV file before importing it into Little Big Shop?
Every eCommerce platform structures product data slightly differently, which means the CSV or Excel file you export from your current platform may not match Little Big Shop’s format exactly. This is completely normal practice—most major eCommerce platforms require some adjustments when migrating product data.
Common differences include:
- Column names that don’t match (e.g., “Product Title” vs. “Name”)
- Variations (like sizes and colours) being formatted differently
- Price and stock levels being in separate columns
To ensure a smooth migration, you may need to edit the column headers and formatting before importing your products into Little Big Shop. Consider copying and pasting columns from your CSV file, into Little Big Shop’s template for the easiest migration.
To download Little Big Shop’s template to import products, navigate to your Admin Dashboard > Products > Import Products > Download Template.
Are there any other times I can use the import products template?
Yes, you can use the import products template when uploading multiple products at once.
Simply populate the template from Little Big Shop with product details and upload in one go with the CSV file.
