Christmas is the season of giving, and also a great opportunity for small business to super charge your marketing strategy to make more sales!
In this post we go through some things you can do to get your brand top of mind with your customers and followers.

Create an exclusive sale

One way to entice customers to purchase from your business is to offer an exclusive offer that can be redeemed within a specific timeframe. Doing this allows you to create a sense of urgency and can entice your followers to act quickly.
When you present this offer to your customers and followers, be sure to position it in a way that highlights the benefits of redeeming the offer. For example, they can save a bit during the most expensive time of the year, and they’ll have their presents sorted before the big day.

Make your social profiles festive

You may want to update your social profiles with branded Christmas content to show that you’re gearing up for the festive season. For example, you could create a new Facebook cover in a Christmas colour scheme with photos of your stock. These will show your audience that you’re excited and will also give them some gift ideas.

Free shipping

To this day a lot of people still don’t want to pay for shipping and this can determine if they proceed with the purchase. Not every business owner is able to offer free shipping, but if you can, it’s a great way to secure a sale.
Or you could opt to provide free shipping for orders over a certain amount. Some customers may even purchase more to redeem this.

Make your return policy easy to find

It’s common practice for a prospective customer to seek your return policy before they go ahead with a purchase. To optimise your customer’s experience on your website, make sure the return policy is easy to find and read. A confusing policy can turn people away and forget your shop altogether.
Most importantly, make sure you’re abiding by Australian Consumer Law when it comes to your return/refund policy.

Create gift guides

Sometimes people need a little bit of assistance figuring out what presents to buy. You can make the process easier by creating gift guides that feature your products. Create seperate guides for individual groups, like mums, dads, teenage girls, teenage boys, grandma…you get the idea!

Social media and email marketing

Start promoting your products, stock, gift guides and customer reviews on your social media accounts and email marketing campaigns. Share regular updates to let your followers and subscribers know about everything you have on offer!

Network with influencers

Have you thought about gifting your product to a social media influencer to review? This may cost you a pair of earrings or socks, but it can be an affordable way to raise awareness about your brand and your Christmas stock. You could even give them an exclusive promo code for your store to share with their followers.
Be sure to share any reviews on your own social channels and even your email marketing campaigns.

Create a calendar

Finally, you’ll want to create a calendar that specifies when you want all of the above to go live. This will give you a better idea of when you need to start creating and have content finished by.

There’s a lot you can do to amp up your Christmas sales, but it does require some planning. If you try some of the tips above, you’ll be well on your way to raise brand awareness and hopefully convert followers to customers.
